NEW YORK (AP) — Christian Bale says he never assumed there'd be a three-film, "Dark Knight" series.

He says in many ways he's amazed the third film, "The Dark Knight Rises," opens in just a few days. He says they couldn't be arrogant enough to presume there would be sequels.

Anne Hathaway joins the cast for the latest Batman movie. She says landing the part of Catwoman is like winning the lottery — and she's very humbled by it.

The stars spoke on the red carpet in New York Monday night at the premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises."
