What the American Dream Means to Me Contest

It’s part of the ‘American Dream’.

Barnum Financial Group , an office of Metlife, the official sponsor, is excited to present the 5th annual essay contest to help your children achieve this goal.

Ask your kids to write about what the American dream means to them and send in their essays by May 1st to:

Open to all children who are residents of Connecticut and are between ages 6-14.
Entries due by Monday, May 1, 2010 no later than 11:59 pm.

Four (4) winners will each receive a cash deposit into a 529 plan account of the winner’s choice or similar college savings vehicle, subject to certain restrictions including account limitations and availability. The total value of all prizes is $5000.00 (five thousand dollars). All prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and have no cash equivalent. Winners are responsible for ongoing account maintenance, annual fees, commissions, charges, ongoing account contributions and similar obligations. Any taxes and/or penalties are the responsibility of the winner.

6-9 years old (age at time of entry)
1st prize- $1000.00 (One thousand dollars)
2nd prize- $500.00 (Five hundred dollars)

10-14 years old (age at time of entry)
1st prize- $2500.00 (Two thousand five hundred dollars)
2nd prize- $1000.00 (One thousand dollars)
